Juniata resident, Robert Lee Scherbarth, 55, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at his home.     

Services will be Friday, October 10, 2014; 10:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating.  Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings.  Visitation will be Wednesday, October 8, 2014; 1:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M., Thursday, October 9, 2014; 9:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M. with family present 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.  Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.  

Robert was born March 12, 1959 in Fairbury, Nebraska to Ted & Mary (Ahl) Scherbarth.  He graduated from Fairbury High School.  Robert grew up in Fairbury and moved to Hastings in 1982 to manage the Hastings location of the family business, Scherbarth Inc.  He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Southern Hills Golf Course and Knights of Pythias, past member of Hastings Optimist Club and Hastings Saddle Club.  Robert was a kind, warm, generous and caring man who loved his grandkids very much and was a friend to everyone.  He loved to travel and golf.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Scherbarth and granddaughter, Ellie Scherbarth.
