Abby 7/87 She graduated H.S. in 2006 and elected to get a degree in physical therapy. So far she has More…completed 2 years at Chadron State, she will end up doing 3 years Chadron, 3 years Omaha. Abby was our dancer in high school and still teaches a class in Chadron, She is home for the summer (probably her last) working as a waitress, hoping to save some money, because when she goes to Omaha it will be full time. Morgan 2/92 our newest driver and our sports nut, Her 1st love is Nebraska football, summer swim league, and basketball. Swim team started last week (mom inherited the coaching job last year) with 2 meets down and 3 to go. Of course there is also bb camps and working as a lifeguard at the pool. This is the year (every 4 years) that the Alliance band goes to Washington DC to play in the 4th of July parade, so Morgan and mom will be gone a week for that. Tyler 5/96 loves hunting and fishing, if only he could make an occupation out of it, life would be great (which includes 4 wheelers). He is busy this summer mowing yards, should have been on swim team but broke a bone in his hand trying to jump the curb on his scooter (showing off for a friend, 6 days out of school).
Moved to Alliance the summer of 79 and fixed railroad cars until I was hired on the railroad Oct. 1980. Started out as a brakeman then was promoted to conductor in 1983. Went thru the usual lay offs and corporate cut backs until about 1992 and have been full time ever since. I have had a regular run from Alliance to Ravenna, Ne. and return since 1998, Which means I'm gone 36 hours and home about 36 hours, leaving Laurie a railroad widow every 36 hours. Speaking of Laurie, we met in 1986 here in Alliance. She is from Doniphan, Ne. and was teaching Kindergarten until there was an opening in Special Ed. She worked with the pre-schoolers and was promoted to Director for that program 4 years ago. This year she accepted the Special Ed. directors job for all of Alliance. We used to do some camping and boating but with everybody working we just don't get around to it any more. Have made it back to Lincoln the last 2 years for girls state basketball and a few Husker games but thats about it.
School Story:
I don't know if this is true but I heard stories about people crashing the country club pool, pasture parties, throwing snowballs off the pepsi building, skipping school account a party @ F. Siebe's house, endless hours of crusing and of course road trips to Washington, Ks. Thats what I heard. I agree with John Ayers is was nice to sit around in the mornings and at noon to just B.S. The way it looks right now I won't be able to make it back for the reunion (kids last swim meet & moms the coach). I sure hope life gives each and everyone of you its very best and I hope to catch up with you some day.
